About Jibóia

Jibóia is a consultancy specialized in decolonial strategies and operations within the philanthropy and social justice ecosystem. We offer support and guidance grounded in intersectional feminist and antiracist values.

Of Tupi origin – an Indigenous language of Pindorama, Abya Yala – Jibóia (pronounced ji-BOY-uh) means “rainbow serpent”. Jibóia is a snake, but also a climbing plant that takes root wherever it goes, carrying protection and nature’s wisdom.

Jibóia is a Brazilian consultancy officially founded in 2024 by Verônica Veloso, who has worked as a consultant in the sector since 2018. Jibóia operates globally, grounded in knowledge rooted in Brazil and the Global South.
Values that Sustain Our Practice
Intersectional Feminism
Our commitment to building a world free from oppression is non-negotiable. An intersectional, antiracist feminist lens guides every step we take.

The Boldness of Hope
We cultivate hope as a courageous act—not naïve, but committed to collective transformation.

Redistributive Justice
We believe resources are collective. Philanthropy’s role is to facilitate their redistribution in a just and intentional way. Philanthropy is not charity—it must be a tool for social justice.

Care
We recognize collective care as both a strategy and an ancestral technology for good living. Care sustains our resistance and our fight for social justice.

Participation
Collective dreams can only become real through collective action. Participation must be built on fair conditions, active listening, and shared decision-making power.

Time as a guide
We honor the rhythm of each process while upholding our commitments. We move through each stage with presence, deep listening, and collective responsibility.

Autonomy
We work to build tools, processes, and structures that can be sustained internally - beyond the end of any collaboration. Our commitment is to continuity, not dependence.
