Climate Justice Resilience Fund Participatory Call

Jibóia was invited to support the Climate Justice Resilience Fund’s first Call for Participatory Funding when the person in charge of the process had to go on leave. We worked to support the strategy and implementation of participatory decision-making, with an emphasis on facilitating the two stages of voting, which involved almost 200 groups. We also contributed to the systematization of lessons learned, aiming to inform and improve future calls for proposals.
Why?
We believe that resources belong to communities. That’s why philanthropic processes must reflect the values, struggles, and dreams of social movements. Decisions about the use of resources should be built collectively and participatorily.
How?
We support funds, foundations, and institutions in the design, strengthening, operationalization, monitoring, and evaluation of participatory funding processes.
Cultivating Networks and Communities
Group of Black Women Directors in Civil Society
Remote, with face-to-face meetings in Salvador and São Paulo

The Group is a joint effort by different organizations that came together with the vision of promoting a consolidated network of black women directors. The group’s first cycle, which lasted one year, was funded by Luminate and Ibirapitanga and managed by Imaginarius. Verônica acted as co-coordinator of the group, along with Luana Alves (Imaginarius) and Valdecir Nascimento (Odara), responsible for monitoring the community, operating daily activities, and mediating online and face-to-face meetings.
Why?
For networks and communities to flourish, it is necessary to create intentional spaces for coming together, where connection and trust can grow stronger. We believe that lasting relationships are built over time, through presence and intention, nurtured by shared values and a desire to walk together.
How?
We co-create, accompany, and facilitate networks and communities, supporting processes of collaboration, learning, and collective care. Our work is grounded in listening and collective construction, so that each network can recognize itself as a living territory of transformation.
Management and Support for SmartSimple
Management and Support for the International Trans Fund SmartSimple Platform

In partnership with Alnawa, we provide ongoing support to the International Trans Fund (ITF) team in managing the SmartSimple platform, which enables the fund’s participatory process. Our work includes a continuous improvement of the platform, the development of new tools, and ongoing operational support, helping with the beginning and closing of funding cycles, the invitation of grantees, and other day-to-day demands. In addition, we carry out training and create guidance documents, supporting the ITF team to manage the process autonomously.
Why?
When used with intention, technology becomes a bridge – not a barrier. It simplifies complex processes, makes participatory decision-making more accessible, allowing us to focus on what truly matters.
How?
We support funds, institutions, and foundations to use platforms like SmartSimple in strategic ways, aligned with their values. We take care of the platform’s design, optimization, and management.

Building Feminist Cities Meeting - Pathways to inclusive and sustainable mobility

As a partnership between Jiboia and Bacanta (a consultancy specializing in facilitation), Verônica and Ana Luiza Cavalcanti facilitated the Building Feminist Cities Meeting, organized by Women Mobilize Women (WMW) and GIZ Brasil. The three-day event brought together 50 participants from different Latin American countries, including activists, public officials, and researchers. Moments of exhibition, art, and meaningful connections co-created a safe space for learning and deep exchanges among all participants.

The most powerful transformations happen in collective spaces – where we dream together, make decisions, and support one another. That’s why spaces must be held with intention, deep listening, and political purpose.
How?
We facilitate groups, events, gatherings, and retreats with a range of focuses: strategic, operational, thematic, or centered on the collective care of activists.
